Twist’s DNA synthesis technology exhibits extremely low error rates. This level of precision makes larger gene assembly more reliable and easier to achieve.
In a direct comparison with competitor products Twist outperformed with the lowest error rate. The same sequences were ordered from Twist and Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc. (IDT) for genes of various lengths, the genes were then cloned and transformed, colonies were picked and sequenced. The data represent the average error rate across the given sequences in each set.
As seen in the figure below, Twist Gene Fragments had a nearly 2-fold improvement in error rate over IDT gBlocks across the entire size range and a 1.7-fold improvement over eBlocks across the range of 300 - 800 bp, with a 1:5,367 bp and 1:6,253 bp error rate respectively. Low error rates translate into fewer colonies that need to be picked and screened to find your perfect gene saving you time and money.
