Twist Bioscience hosted a live Biotechnology Seminar (Webinar) during lunchtime as part of the Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan.
RNA degradation contributes to the regulation of gene expression and RNA quality control. Dr. Akimitsu will show the molecular bases of RNA degradation in mammalian cells. In addition, he will introduce the application of RNA degradation/stabilization to nucleic acid medicine. In this regard, he has developed Fate-seq, a NGS technique based on the silicon-based massively parallel DNA synthesis platform. He will also give an example of application of Fate-seq for the SARS-CoV-2 study.
Twist Bioscience provides synthetic biology and genomics researchers with tools to accelerate their research at low cost with a silicon-based massively parallel DNA synthesis platform. In this talk, Dr. Kawai will introduce the product groups related to COVID-19 (synthetic RNA control, respiratory disease NGS panel, anti-SARS-CoV2-antibody, etc.). He will also introduce the Twist variant library platform such as the Spread-Out Low Diversity (SOLD) library, which is useful for molecular evolution and protein engineering.
