Navigating the frontier: Integrating emerging biomedical technologies into modern healthcare
Abstract
Intelligent biomedical technologies play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare by integrating cutting-edge innovations such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, precision medicine, and such. Intelligent biomedical technologies significantly enhance the quality of healthcare by improving diagnostic accuracy, personalizing treatment approaches, facilitating remote monitoring, optimizing healthcare management, enabling preventive care, and fostering continuous innovation in the field. This chapter explores the intersection of intelligent biomedical technologies and the sustainable development goals (SDGs), emphasizing their collective impact on achieving global health targets. The integration of these technologies not only enhances diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy but also addresses key SDGs, including quality healthcare (SDG 3), industry innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17). This chapter will have five sections. The first section introduces the impact of biomedical technologies in achieving sustainable healthcare and lists the cutting-edge biomedical technologies in trend. The second section explains these technologies in detail listing out recent versions and their application areas. The third section explores the practical possibilities and commercial viability of these technologies. It also explores the organizations that are revolutionizing these technologies in their product development. Section 4 explores the challenges and delimitations associated with these technologies and proposes possible solutions. Section 5 concludes the chapter by summarizing the topics discussed in previous sections. This section highlights the considerable capacity for intelligent biomedical technologies to prompt sustainable development within the healthcare domain, thereby promoting a comprehensive and all-encompassing strategy toward enhancing global health results.
